Getting to School

At Pear Tree Mead we believe that we should help children to lead a healthy lifestyle.  We encourage parents where possible to allow their child to walk or ride to school.  We have a covered bike shed for them to keep their bikes or scooters in.  All bikes and scooters are parked at the families own risk.  We ask that children do not ride their bikes or scooters on the school grounds.

Where it is not possible for parents to walk to school with their children we understand that they will have to drive.  Please be careful when driving and parking near the school as there are always lots of children around.  Please be courteous when parking near the school and do not park in the private parking areas.  Members of the school leadership team monitor outside the school throughout the year.

We have a school travel plan that helps us to make sure that our school are travelling to school in the safest and healthiest way and that we are working together with our community.

Our school gates open at approx. 8.30am.  There is a member of staff on duty from 8.30am on the small playground.  Children should not be left unaccompanied in any other areas of the school.  We would advise that only year 5 and 6 children are left without a parent before school.
